Become a Chameleon: Audition Information
Choral Chameleon is passionate about the human voice as an instrument and its unique ability to reach others. We value diversity in our musical community and embrace the quirks and eccentricities of each individual. As an organization, we are committed to sharing the joy in choral singing and to creating new jobs for singers in the New York and tri-state area.

CHAMELEONIC is a volunteer/dues based chorus which is led by Vince Peterson in collaboration with members of Choral Chameleon. Chameleonic performs two mainstream concerts annually.
To audition for Chameleonic:
Auditions for Chameleonic are held two to three times per year in open calls, as well as by appointment. Please email chameleonauditions@gmail.com for more information or to sign up for the next available time-slot.
CHORAL CHAMELEON is a paid ensemble of twelve singers who perform three series concerts annually, as well as a host of additional gigs and appearances.
To audition for Choral Chameleon:
Auditions for Choral Chameleon are held regularly, on an ongoing basis, with group callback auditions scheduled as soon as slots become available within the ensemble.

To audition for Chameleonic:
- Prepare one song that you feel best shows off your range and vocal ability. We will also ask you to sing a few scales and vocalize briefly for us.
- Come prepared for a few sight-reading and listening exercises such as identifying tones within chords
- Talk briefly with us about your musical interests

CHORAL CHAMELEON is a paid ensemble of twelve singers who perform three series concerts annually, as well as a host of additional gigs and appearances.
To audition for Choral Chameleon:
- Prepare two staunchly contrasting songs in different genres (e.g. an opera aria and a pop song in different tempi).
- Advanced sight-reading excerpts will be provided. Past excerpts have come from pieces such as Poulenc's "Salve Regina" and Copland's "An Immorality." Future sight-reading will be at a similar level, with preference given to those with excellent sight-reading skills.
- Interview with us
- If needed (when positions in the group open), individual auditions will be followed by group callbacks with prepared repertoire on a second date.
