THE LATEST NEWS FROM CHORAL CHAMELEON
Sxip Shirey and Coco Karol with Choral Chameleon at FERUS Festival at National Sawdust in 2018
Composer Sxip Shirey and choreographer Coco Karol are bringing their immersive choral installation 'The Gauntlet' back to NYC this Summer, as part of National Sawdust Projects. Hundreds of singers, from numerous choirs, will be participating. There will be two performances on Saturday August 3rd, at 4pm and 7pm in the Plaza.
Our singers have enjoyed being Sxip's choral instrument, on a much smaller scale, on The High Line, Central Park, St Paul's Carroll St and twice at National Sawdust's Ferus Festival, and we've been working with Sxip and Coco as they workshop this site-specific version.
Coco Karol was our 10th Season collaborator, developing the movement for our 'Body' concert.
