Friday, November 22, 2019 | 8:00 PM Saturday, November 23, 2019 | 8:00 PM Irondale Center | Fort Greene, Brooklyn MAP The Chorus is returning to the amazing Irondale Center in Fort Green Brooklyn! For those who attended our BODY program in April 2018, you'll know you are in for a treat: the scale, atmosphere, acoustics, and ...the highly popular gallery bar! In 'Bigger Than My Body', we will be collaborating with visual artist Robyn Prezioso, who will create a unique oil on canvas artwork over the course of each concert. The musical program, full of contemporary colors and textures, reflects the artist's inner world, which is ultimately voiced on canvas. A treat for art and music lovers alike, the audience will be able to watch Robyn's work-in-progress projected onto a large screen. AUM Fidelity, Eri Yamamoto's go-to jazz-specialist label will be releasing the full-length 'Goshu Ondo Suite', which the Chorus premiered in November 2018. We are thrilled to welcome Tegan Miller as our new Assistant Conductor, and Hee Sung Kim as our new Principal Pianist! Tegan is s NYC-based music director, conductor, voice teacher, and performer, and the current MD of the Off-Broadway hit The Office Musical Parody. Hee Sung is a versatile pianist and collaborative artist. Her extensive performing career has led her to major venues throughout New York and Korea. She serves as music director and organist at Central Korean United Methodist Church and maintains a private piano studio in Brooklyn. Welcome Hee Sung and Tegan! Join us for the premiere of New York Botanical Garden's Composer-in Residence Angélica Negrón’s newly commissioned, site-specific work for chorus and soundscape in the Thain Family Forest. At a time when giving a voice to trees is more urgent than ever due to climate change and deforestation, this interactive choral experience explores humanity’s relationship with the forest in a world increasingly dominated by technology. The Chorus returned from Summer Break to St Paul's Carroll St in Brooklyn on Sept 7 & 8, to record the two contemporary works by current and former Composers-in-Residence featured in April's 'Deus ex Machina' concerts of secular choral music, with organist Nathan Taylor and percussionist Christine Chen:
